This advanced skin needling technique uses tiny vibrating needles which make micro channels in the skin. Dermapen™ can be used to tighten, lift and rejuvenate aging, sun damaged skin. It can also be used to remodel acne scars and treat stretch marks.

The Dermapen™ uses tiny needles to make channels in the skin which heal using non scarring collagen in a process similar to fractional laser treatments but without the side effects or downtime.

The Dermapen™ is relatively painless and treatments are performed after application of an anesthetic cream. The small size of the Dermapen™ allows treatment in hard to reach areas such as around the eyes, lips and nose. A general guide to the number of treatments required is:

Treatments take 30 – 60 minutes. There may be some redness of the treated area for 12 – 48 hours after treatment and possibly light scabbing, but this can be covered using a camouflage make-up. Dermapen™ can be complemented with peels, dermal fillers and botulinum treatment.

Juvederm™ is the new hyaluronic acid filler for wrinkles, lips and volume enhancement in the mid face.

Hyaluronic acid is an amino acid found naturally in the body’s tissues.

It is an improved hyaluronic acid product that has a smooth and cohesive consistency. It stays where it is placed in the skin.

Juvederm™ is injected under folds and wrinkles to plump and support the skin.

Juvederm™ products are longer lasting. They are the only hyaluronic acid dermal filler approved by the FDA to last up to one year from treatment.

Juvederm™ Ultra XC and Juvederm™ Ultra Plus XC contain a fast acting local anesthetic, lidocaine, to make your experience more comfortable.

A commonly treated area is the lines that run from the nose to the corner of the mouth. As lines running vertically on the face tend to age you, treating these lines can make you look younger and fresher.

All these treatments can cause bruising, but every effort is made to prevent this. Most people can return to work after a treatment.

PCA Skin® has been producing dermatologist approved skin treatments for over 20 years. Tina has been using them for almost this length of time. Their Jessner’s peels are cited in dermatology text books.

There are number of peels which are used to treat aging skin, light acne scarring and skin discolouration (pigmented skin). Tina will match the appropriate peel to your skin problem. Treatments are frequently used in conjunction with other PCA Skin® products.

Thickened, dull, sun damaged New Zealand skin responds particularly well to these peels.

PCA Skin® peels are designed to give a light peel after about 3 days. The vast majority of people can return to work after having a peel and make-up can be used after 15 minutes.

Peels take 30 minutes and the cost is similar to having a facial, but with much greater effect. A course of 6 peels over 6 months is generally recommended for optimal results.

There should be minimal discomfort during a peel. Deeper peels may cause moderate stinging for a few minutes.

You may need to adjust your make-up after having a course of peels. Your skin will look so much better that you may find you require a less foundation.

With constant muscle action and sun damage to ageing skin, particularly in New Zealand, lines can appear on the upper face as frown lines, forehead lines and squint lines around the eyes.

Your family and friends might ask if you are annoyed with them, or angry. People may think you look stressed.

With Dysport™, a British product similar to Botox®, that has been available in New Zealand for nearly 20 years you can smooth the lines leaving you looking relaxed and younger. It is a botulinum type A toxin which works by blocking a neurotransmitter (acetylcholine) which makes the muscle contract.

Dysport™ is injected in three or more sites in small doses using a tiny needle. The muscles in the treated areas gradually stop moving over a week to ten days. After this you are left with a soft, natural and relaxed face.

Treatments last approximately 3 -5 months.

Dysport™ can also be used to treat excessive sweating in the armpits.
